Two false charges in Electra, Texas. Prosecutor tries to add more at pretrial. And so much more.

Two false charges in Electra, Texas. Prosecutor tries to add more at pretrial. And so much more.

I verbally objected to an unconstitutional search of my vehicle in Electra, Texas. Police officers Matt Wood and Gary Ellis maliciously responded by issuing me two false citations. I got a copy of the dashboard-camera video at the pretrial hearing. It showed all. City attorney Todd Greenwood demanded I give my copy of the evidence back, and tried to have me arrested when I refused. Todd Greenwood then compared rural Texas to the movie Deliverance, and warned me "What's written down in the Constitution is one thing, and the real practice is another." All charges dropped. Section 1983 anyone?

Unfortunately this how the law generally conducts
business, the officers who daily function with the
prosecutors and judges word, is taken over the public's.
As well as jury's pooled from the local community,
where everybody knows everyone.

Feb.25th 2014 ....The City of Electra is now on the hunt for a new city attorney after its city commission voted not to renew the current city attorney, Todd Greenwood's contract. Greenwood had served as Electra's city attorney for two and a half years. On Tuesday evening, before the commissioners voted on the future of his position, Greenwood addressed them and also the controversial Youtube video at the center of all of this. "In light of the negative publicity the video has generated, I do not anticipate this commission's renewal of my contract, however I will not resign my position," Greenwood says. His contract expired in December. Greenwood said due to a possible lawsuit, there wasn't much he could say. However, he did address the Youtube video where he's seen making comments some consider to be inappropriate. Greenwood, "If upon release of the unedited video it proves that I have done or said anything that has embarrassed this town or caused any of you embarrassment, I'm deeply sorry for that." But, in a unanimous vote the commission motioned not to renew Greenwood's contract. Electra Mayor Curtis Warner says Greenwood is a good attorney but unfortunately it's a decision that had to be made. "It was with reluctance that I voted for this motion because I feel what we've got to do is for the best of the city and right at this time, that idea was the best thing to do," Warner says. It is a move some Electra residents like Matthew McAlister say is in the right direction. "We need to start all over from the top," McAlister says. "They cleared the police department and most of the citizens didn't like that. We need to clear it from the top. Starting with city hall and work our way down and get rid of all of them and start over. " Greenwood did thank the commission and Electra residents for letting him serve as their city attorney. Mayor Warner says they'll now begin the process of hiring a new city attorney.

Medical intervention in transgender adolescents appears to be safe and effective

Medical intervention in transgender adolescents appears to be safe and effective

THE ENDOCRINE SOCIETY

SAN FRANCISCO--Hormone treatment to halt puberty in adolescents with gender identity disorder does not cause lasting harm to their bones, a new study finds. The results were presented today at The Endocrine Society's 95th Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
"Hormonal interventions to block the pubertal development of children with gender dysphoria are effective and sufficiently safe to alleviate the stress of gender dysphoria," said the study's lead author, Henriette Delemarre-van de Waal, MD, PhD, a professor of pediatric endocrinology at Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden, The Netherlands.
An adolescent who identifies as the opposite sex--now called transgender or gender dysphoric rather than transsexual--often considers the body changes of puberty to be unbearable, Delemarre-van de Waal said.
"Reversible hormone treatment can relieve the psychological suffering of youth with gender dysphoria and allows the adolescent time to explore whether permanent hormone treatment and sex reassignment surgery is the best option," she said.
Treatment early in puberty--ages 12 to 14 years--with medication called gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs (a derivative of the physiologic hormone), or GnRHa, blocks production of the sex hormones that bring on puberty and can make slightly developed sex characteristics go away. However, puberty is the time when buildup of bone mass typically occurs.
"There were concerns that blocking the hormones of puberty at the normal age of puberty would have long-term deleterious effects on bone health," Delemarre-van de Waal said.
To study the bone health of adolescents with gender identity disorder who received puberty suppression treatment with GnRHa, the researchers followed up 127 such patients who later chose to receive "cross-sex hormones" to induce sexual characteristics of the opposite sex. Fifty-three boys transitioned to the female sex by taking estrogen, and 73 girls transitioned to the male sex by receiving testosterone, the authors reported. They received cross-sex hormones beginning at age 16 years. This age is in agreement with Dutch law and The Endocrine Society guidelines for treating transgender persons, which Delemarre-van de Waal helped develop.
Suppression of puberty was well received, according to Delemarre-van de Waal. The patients reported satisfaction and no regrets regarding suppression of puberty. However, many of them commented that age 16 was too late to start taking cross-sex hormones, she said.
At the start of GnRHa treatment, all patients had normal bone mineral density, Delemarre-van de Waal reported. During GnRHa treatment, bone density gradually increased in the younger patients but slightly decreased in the older ones. However, after the teens received cross-sex hormones, bone density caught up, similar to the increase that occurs naturally in puberty, she said. All patients had normal or near-normal bone mass for their age after cross-sex hormone therapy.
"Remarkably, the highest bone mineral density was in the patients who had started hormonal intervention with GnRHa at an early pubertal stage," she said. "These findings reaffirm that halting puberty in gender-dysphoric adolescents is a responsible practice that will not harm bone health."

North Little Rock Police Officer Jon Crowder, severely under charged for traffic stop assault.

North Little Rock Police Officer Jon Crowder, 47, has been charged with third-degree battery for his use of force in an arrest Aug. 27, 2018.

After watching this video, please tell me how
the police don't need rotating civilian over-site?
Why it shouldn't be mandatory, for them to carry
insurance, that's backed by their pensions?

This was clearly felony assault, but
as the police and their collaborators,
the prosecutors are immune to prosecution.
They kept Jon Crowder on government
paid desk duty and did not receive the
same charges any civilian in his place would have.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

North Little Rock Police Officer Jon Crowder, 47, has been charged with third-degree battery for his use of force in an arrest Aug. 27, 2018.

KTVH reported from the affidavit filed Wednesday in district court to support the Class A misdemeanor charge, that Crowder had assisted on a call to make an arrest at a motel on Pershing.

The initial responding officer stated over the radio a subject, later identified as Kristopher Lamar, involved in the incident was attempting to leave in a blue car.

The dash cam video from Crowder’s patrol car shows him conducting a traffic stop on a blue vehicle at the entrance of West Pershing location. Crowder had the Lamar step out of the vehicle and move to the rear of the car. Crowder then placed Lamar’s hands behind his back, with the assistance of another responding officer, and was able to place him in handcuffs.

During the course of the arrest, the dash camera video shows Crowder lift Lamar’s arms up behind his back, pinning his torso to the car. Crowder then transported Lamar to the North Little Rock Police Department Detective Division.

While at the station, Lamar complained of a pain in his arms and was transported by another officer to Baptist Health Spring Hill Emergency Room where he was diagnosed as having mildly displaced features of the ulna bone in both elbow joints.

After this encounter, a Subject Control file was created per departmental policy and reviewed by supervisory personnel. It was determined that policy violations occurred and resulted in disciplinary action being taken against Crowder.
Crowder was suspended for a period of 30 days starting on October 25, 2018.
KARK reports from a police department release that the prosecutor’s review of Crowder began when it reviewed the felony charge against the man who was arrested.
Upon reviewing the initial felony case file for the arrested subject, the Pulaski County Prosecutors Office found that the officer’s actions while affecting the arrest rose to a criminal level.

The Office of the Chief of Police was notified on May 20th 2019 that the Pulaski County Prosecutor would be seeking charges against the officer. Upon learning this information Officer Crowder was immediately removed from patrol and placed on modified duty. A criminal investigation was initiated and an affidavit was completed and submitted to the Pulaski County Prosecutor on June 26, 2019 at which time, an arrest warrant was issued for misdemeanor Battery 3rd. The warrant has since been served. Officer Crowder was charged through the Pulaski County District Court.
Chief Mike Davis has provided the following statement regarding the incident:

“Protecting the community is at the core of what we do. Ensuring our officers undergo extensive training that emphasizes the need to understand and appreciate their authority and limitations is paramount to ensure we fulfill our mission. We serve at the will of our citizens and we are accountable to our community. Giving officers the authority to use reasonable force and protect the public requires monitoring, evaluation and careful balancing of all interest. As always, we realize that to be effective in an ever-changing world, training and education must continue throughout an officer’s career.”
UPDATE: I’m told Crowder is now on paid leave.

Republican lawmakers want to make child drag shows illegal.

Republican lawmakers want to make child drag shows illegal

PINKNEWS STAFF WRITER APRIL 22, 2019
Republican lawmakers are trying to outlaw child drag shows
Republican lawmakers are trying to outlaw child drag shows
Republican lawmakers in Ohio have filed a bill that would clamp down on drag performances by minors as “child exploitation.”
Ohio representative Tim Schaffer has proposed a bill in the state legislature seeking to clamp down on performances by “a child under eighteen years of age or a mentally or physically handicapped child under twenty-one years of age,” in a response to a performance by a nine-year-old drag queen.
Offenders could face up to six months in prison and a $1000 fine, while violations of the law could lead to venues being stripped of their liquor licenses.

In a release, Schaffer confirmed the bill was a response to “a performance by a child in a local bar [that] concerned numerous citizens throughout Fairfield County.”
Nine-year-old performer Jacob Measley and his family have faced a tidal wave of threats and abuse after he performed as “Miss Mae Hem” as a drag event.
His mother Jerri Measley explained told the Toledo Blade that her son decided to take up drag after watching RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Measley added that she does not allow her son to perform to songs with sexual lyrics, and that she closely monitors his performances, which consist of dance moves he learned in gymnastics and dance class.
She said: “Jacob is just a guy who likes to dress up and dance and feel pretty… it’s kind of like Halloween every time he has the opportunity to do it.”

Republican lawmaker Tim Schaffer compares child drag show to human trafficking

Schaffer claimed that show was “a very bad example of parenting,” and likened the performance to human trafficking.
He said: “Given our heightened focus on human trafficking and the role money plays in trafficking children, I knew I had to take action to make sure this activity does not occur again.
“We can do better to protect innocent children and we must do better.”
Schaffer’s bill is co-sponsored by eight other Republican lawmakers, the majority of whom have anti-LGBT records.

They are John Becker, Timothy Ginter, Candice R. Keller, Bernadine Kennedy Kent, Craig S. Riedel, Kent Smith, Fred Strahorn and A. Nino Vitale
The specific wording of the bill would outlaw any performance “that suggests a minor is participating or engaging in sexual activity, masturbation, or bestiality and that, taken as a whole by the average person applying contemporary community standards, appeals to prurient interest.”
There was no suggestion in the show that Measley was “participating or engaging in sexual activity, masturbation, or bestiality,” but campaigners are worried that it could be used to clamp down indiscriminately.
Local LGBT+ campaigner Kristen Angelo said: “There is nothing wrong with what Jacob is doing. Nothing sexual, nothing inappropriate.”
The mayor of Lancaster, David Scheffler, stressed that contrary to claims being spread online, the performer “was fully clothed and was not touched by anyone in the audience.”
He added that there “have been serious threats of violence” following misleading claims being spread about the performance.
Other underage drag performers like Desmond Napoles have had a similar backlash.
